Contraceptives for men: it happens sometimes
The question of the prevention of unplanned pregnancy arises in almost every couple who live sexually. There are many, but the willingness to establish offspring comes only with time, because, whatever one may say, but the step is serious and responsible. But for some reason it happened that most men do not consider it necessary to take care of preventing pregnancy, shifting this difficult burden onto fragile women's shoulders.
Indeed, after all, men do not become pregnant, which is probably why they are not particularly worried about the consequences that a female body can experience in the case of unprotected sexual intercourse.
Over the years, all medicine in this industry has concentrated all its strength and attention on contraceptives for women, explaining that it is much easier to fight with a single egg once every 28 days than with the million-strong army of spermatozoa that are produced daily by the male body.
It is very difficult to predicthow effective a particular method will be, for it is enough to miss out of the attention only one spermatozoon out of a million existing ones, and this will be quite enough to fertilize the female egg. But, recently, medicine has taken a step in this area by inventing new means and methods to avoid unwanted pregnancies.
What are contraceptive methods for men?
By natural methods, we understand ways to avoid pregnancy, but they do not require the use of any additional contraceptives and means. Impeccable dignity of such methods is considered to be free of charge, but sometimes this is not the time worth saving.
- Interrupted intercourse. If you believe the statistics, then every fourth or even third man gladly uses this method, which is to extract the male sexual organ from the vagina before the moment of ejaculation. This method has a low indicator of efficiency - only about 70%, which, in fact, makes every third sexual intercourse dangerous, because a small amount of sperm can be released at the very beginning of sexual intercourse, which sometimes is not controlled by a man. This method, of course, has its advantages - it does not cause any particular harm to the body and does not require the constant use of some kind of aids. But there will be much more disadvantages: the possibility of contracting infectious and other sexual diseases, which is very important especially for those men and women who do not have a regular partner. It is believed that over time, the constant use of this method leads to a decrease in sexual desire, requires a constant concentration from the man and a certain tension during sexual intercourse.
- "Hot Scrotum". The ancient Japanese method, which involves the temporary sterilization of men, which is achieved by increasing the temperature in the scrotum. Usually this effect can be achieved with daily use of a hot bath with a temperature of 46.6 ° for 45 minutes. Such constant overheating of the testicles leads to disruption of sperm production, which, in turn, leads to temporary sterility of men, but the effectiveness of this method is not so high that it can be used as the main contraceptive.
At the moment we will talk about the two most famous and widely used methods, which, despite the innovations and inventions of scientists in the field of contraceptives, are very popular among the male population.
This, of course, is about using condoms, which are an ideal way to prevent unwanted pregnancies.
In addition, an indisputable advantage of such funds is their ability to protect against infectious and other sexually transmitted diseases.
Condoms are made from high quality and ultrafine latex, which does not miss sperm, they can be presented in various shapes, sizes, colors and even flavors. Such tools are easily available at any pharmacy or store, which also increases their level of popularity among men.
But, as in any other means of contraception, there are some risks: use efficiency is about 85-97%, and not the stated 99%.
This is due to the possibility of accidental damage to the latex - teeth, nails or other third-party objects, slippage of the condom during sexual intercourse, breaks, which may occur due to improper use of the tool.
Sometimes men or women experience an allergy to latex, which leads to unpleasant sensations and discomfort. But, that way, or otherwise, condoms remain the main means of contraception among men, because in addition to allergies they have no other side effects, and under ideal conditions of use, they are protected by 99%.
Vasectomy or sterilization
This method seems to be a surgical intervention, which, of course, immediately causes a certain discomfort. The process itself consists in the intersection of ejaculatory flows, which in a direct sense affects the sexual desire and potency of a man.
The effectiveness of this procedure reaches 99%, and in 2-3 months after it the man becomes infertile.
Naturally, this option suits far from all, so the method is quite radical, and, according to the law, is available only to those male representatives who have reached the age of 35 and have at least two children. Of course, most men to this method are very skeptical, besides, he does not protect against various sexual infections.
Pills contraceptives for men
For a long time, such funds existed purely for the female body, but just a few years ago, Israeli scientists solved this problem - the first male oral contraceptive was developed, which you will need to drink only once every three months to suppress sperm production.
Of course, such tablets are not yet in mass production, they are now undergoing multiple tests, which so far confirm their effectiveness: 100%. Israeli scientists claim that they are absolutely harmless; if you stop using them, then after a short period of time, the normal sexual function of men is restored.
But, whatever one may say, any birth control pills are hormonal drugs, with which one should be more careful, because jokes with hormones are bad. In any case, before the appearance of such funds in mass and widespread trade, it may take more than one year.
