The Key to Diabetic Weight Loss?
If you're struggling with diabetes and trying to lose weight, a new study suggests that simply cutting calories (rather than worrying about whattypeof diet you do) might be the most beneficial thing.
Researchers assigned over 300 overweight type 2 diabetics to either a low-fat/high-protein diet or a low-fat/high-carb program. Participants lowered calorie intake and tracked food in diaries. After a two-year period, both groups lost a similar amount of weight and had similar blood fat profiles, adding to the belief that calories (energy in, energy out) are really what matters.
